AHCD Vision:

A future where communities, agriculture, and the environment are healthy, sustainable and in balance with one another.

The district comprises of 5,802 kms and has a rural population of 14,204. In Partnership with the Municipalities of: Argyle, Cornwallis, Glenboro- South Cypress, Grassland,  Oakland-Wawanesa,  Prairie Lakes, Souris-Glenwood, The City of Brandon and the Province of Manitoba.

Seasonal (2 month) Student Job Opportunity

Jr. Technician Assistant

*Subject to availability of Funding

Term: July –August, 2017 – 8 weeks

**Must meet requirements as specified under the federal ‘Canada Summer Jobs’ or ‘Hometown Green Team’ programs.


Assist with CD programs such as Well Capping and Shock Chlorinating

Transport equipment and assist landowners with shelterbelt planting

Collection of water samples

Conduct site inspections for program eligibility


Willing to work with a minimum of supervision or as a team

Capable of carrying heavy loads up to 50lbs (bentonite)

Public speaking/ teaching an asset

GIS/ Microsoft Office computer skills

Land surveying an asset (transit/ laser/ total station)

Planning and organization skills essential

Experience with conservation or farm work

Must possess a valid Class 5 Manitoba Drivers License

Evening and weekend work when necessary
